Meetings

groupaudience

Usually we meet on the 4th Saturday of the month, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, at the Kenmore Branch Library, 160 Delaware Road in Kenmore, NY. Our next meeting is Saturday, June 24. Special guest speaker: Paul Lukasik - who, in addition to his day job, regularly performs community service work through a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit he founded in 2003 where he freely offers introductory classes and other events on mindfulness. Mindfulness is a way of learning to relate directly to whatever is happening in your life, a way of taking charge of your life, a way of doing something for yourself that no one else can do for you consciously and systematically working with your own stress, pain, illness, and the challenges and demands of everyday life. Paul's talk will focus on Mindfulness Meditation, a component of mindfulness that may be helpful to group members in regard to dealing with the stresses of living with a chronic, invisible illness.
